Motion 2

In this project we took motion and made a video doing a thing we had to teach ourselves. we decided to pick motion tracking. we took a coin and motion traced it with this sparkling, glowing thing. I learned that John Alex won't let me do anything during a project because he has trust issues........ and motion tracking is a pain in the butt.

Motion Me

Motion Me from Ryan Marcus on Vimeo.

In this assignment we learned how to use Motion and make our own motion name project. We put our name in and had things that describe us in with it. Our objective was to use motion by adding Behaviors to our name and descriptive words. I learned that Motion is a complex and useful tool (it reminded me of the 1rst time I used Final Cut) and i would love to learn how to use the 3D portion of Motion.

Sound Story

In this project we had to make a story with only sound and no visual aspects. I learned that there is more than i thought to the audio of videos, movies, and shows that I see. I truly enjoyed making my own story with footsteps, a breezy wind, and other small details.

30 Second Spot

In this project Mr. Bush assigned us with a 30 second song in which we had to use only one wide shot and only close ups and extreme close ups. I learned that it's o.k. to not rely on wide shots and that close ups can reveal detail about your video.

Animoto

Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.

In this assignment we learned about Animoto.com it's a website that lets you make short videos for free. All you have to do is put your pictures and text in, choose the music which they can supply for you, and they do the rest. Here is the video that I made of my work this year.

Still Life

In this I took my old bear and made it look like he was listening to music. I thought this brought him to life as if he was enjoying or just listening to the music that was playing.
ISO: 200
Shutter Speed: 1/4
Aperture: 2.9

In this assignment I learned how to bring life to a object to make it seem like it has emotions. It's sometimes proves difficult to do this with all objects and you have to which objects are easier to bring emotions/life to.

In this assignment we took a word from the dictionary and described it using pictures we found on the internet. My word was Lackadaisical which means lacking determination or enthusiasm or carelessly lazy.

Architecture

In this assignment I took pictures of the school, and other places but they really didn't turn out that good, for architecture. I learned that the better photos have more angles, walls meeting, and lines. The more of these there are the better my pictures were.

In this photo I took a picture of a stair way looking up from the bottom of it. I found that all the railways and different levels creating great lines and many deph of fields.

Context

In this assignment we took a place of our school and made it out of context. In this I took a picture of the first aid kit and made it all crazy and wrong. I liked this assignment because I really got to express my creativity and crazyness.

Black & White

In this Assignment I took black and white photos of my house, my sisters apartment and even one from the Tesoriero's house. I learned that usually the objects of interest that either have black, white, or big contrast usually looks good in black & white.

In my best photo I took a picture of one of my favorite New York Yankee hat. I thought this would look very good in black & white since the logo is already in white. For this picture I actually used a macro setting to get the desired focus of the hat.

Shutter Speed: 1/40
Aperture: 7.3

Motion Demo

In this assignment we learned how to pan a moving figure so that the background would blur and our subject would stay in focus. Our teacher, Mr. Bush, hopped on hopped on his bike and had us take photos of him while he rode back in forth. I personally learned that this is really hard to do and I feel a little lucky i even got a good photo.

Shadows and Light

I took this photo in my sisters apartment up in Lansing. I saw how the light of the lamp created shadows off this wind chime she had in her apartment and decided to take a few pictures. I think this really turned out good.

Panoramic

In this assignment we took 3 pictures and brought them together to make one big panoramic picture. I learned that this is more of an editing assignment than a skillful photo assignment. I also learned that if your pictures don't exactly line up it's o.k., because crop, stretch, and even the eraser tools can help you.

Gimp assignment 4

We Learned how to take portrait pictures of people. There are two types of portrait pictures a three point lighting setup and a window light portrait. Plus we learned that adding a little light is important, but you don't want the same amount of light on both sides of your subject.

I took photos f two of my classmates and then edited them on GIMP and put white borders around them. The left is the 3 point lighting setup an the right is the window light portrait.

Event: Super Bowl!!!!!

I took photos at my friends super bowl party, it was really fun, but i will admit i feel like i got off task. I learned that at a event you should not get caught in the event and remember to take photos.

This is a Picture of the food and objects on the table. I thought this showed a story of the things that are brought to a super bowl party. I thought it was smart to think that these were the focus instead of the people.

Light Painting

In these pictures i went to my friends house to take some pictures and also took some pictures of my billiards table and the room. I learned that it's really hard to get the right things you want the picture to look like, it will take you many tries to get what you want in your light painting photos.

 ISO: 100
 Shutter Speed: 15 Sec
 Aperture: 5.6
This is my best picture where I highlighted my billiards stick and balls on my billiards table i thought this gave a very interesting look of a billiards table and the key elements of it.

Car Gimp Edit

Our Teacher Mr. Bush gave us a photo of a car and showed us a edited version of it. Teaching us what Gimp does he told us to recreate his edited image as close as possible. This assignment taught us how to use Gimp for editing picture, it also taught us how to use the clone and other tools in Gimp.

Macro

In this assignment I took close up pictures of interesting things that i thought looked cool. I learned that the settings really matter when your taking photos close up and that some things might look cool far away but not when your close up. My best photo was a photo of a wooden backboard to a bed, i thought this had good texture and looked great up close.

Gimp Assignment

In this assignment we learned how to use Gimp to edit our photo with different colors, multiple copies, and other tools Gimp has to offer. This assignment was good because now we have more than one place to edit our photos.

Compostion Photos.

Project Description: Our Project was to take 11 photos on 11 different types of composition. These types of composition taught us how to take photos in new and better ways than we knew before. Thus helping us become better photographers.

Photo Description: Rule of 3rds = 3 Bracelets, Deph of Field = Christmas Box, Texture = Snow Foot Print, Repition = Lockers, Lines = Railways, Symmetry = Library, Colors = Candy, Balance = Dice, Perspective = Pillar, Frame = Doorway, and space = Fire Alarm.

What I Learned: I learned that you do not want to center your main focus of your photograph, that you sometimes should try different perspectives and views for your shots, that less can be more like when we took our space photo, and thatrepition of your main focus looks very good in a photo.
